Nine of Many Thoughts on Gratitude
November 26, 2013 in General by Joyce Bunderson
- I am always grateful for my family, each and every one of them and most especially for my precious husband.
- I’m grateful for friends and all those who have touched my life and have helped me grow and succeed.
- I’m grateful for the bounty with which I am blessed. It brings health and joy. That same bounty initiates thoughts and plans of ways to increase the bounty and joy of others.
- I am grateful for the beauty and wonder of the earth and beyond. It reminds me to strive to progress toward better and better personal stewardship of the earth.
- I’m grateful for the things that have not gone well; the tough times – lived through and the heart breaking losses. These times have strengthened me and have opened my eyes to the vast array of things for which to be grateful.
- My long-time favorite quote on gratitude is from Cicero: “Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all others.” He reminds me to continue to strive to become a virtuous person; I need to remember gratitude in all things.
- I’m grateful to ancestors, founders of my country, service men/women who have sacrificed to provide me with the freedoms that I enjoy.
- I’m grateful for those who bring laughter into my life – I truly enjoy laughing.
- For this short list, I lastly want to include, my gratitude that I was able to complete my formal education and to continue to study and learn. I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my field, nutrition, with friends who ask and those who read this blog.
