Enthusiasm for Progress

January 1, 2019 in Foodland Chronicles by Joyce Bunderson

The holidays are winding down. I hope yours were wonderful. I further hope that your hopes for the year ahead are filled with promise and better things than what you’re leaving behind. I hope you’ll be blessed in this new year. If you’re embracing a life of growth and learning, the new year has much to offer; and small positive changes can help you meet the goal of continuing growth. The new year lies before us as an open opportunity; it’s kind of exciting. Isn’t it? The new year seems as though it offering brand new freshness and beauty to our lives.

Winston Churchill is reported to have said, “Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.”  Since Churchill could certainly not be considered an ultimate failure (indeed he had many), the point is, he made progress his entire life and that is a worthy goal. So maybe this year stop shooting for perfection and consider choosing goals of progress.

Benjamin Franklin said; “Be at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let every new year find you a better person.” (Yes, I changed his quote from man to person. He can chastise me if he doesn’t like it. 🙂 ) I’m filled with enthusiasm for progress and send my best wishes to you.
