Whole Wheat Sugar Cookies

Ingredients:
  • ¾ c. butter, softened but not melted
  • 1 c. sugar or Dr. Grandma’s Zero-calorie All-natural Sweetener
  • ½ tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon zest (finely grated peel)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. baking soda
  • 1 ¾ c. Dr. Grandma’s 100% Whole Organic Hard Red Spring Wheat Flour

Roll cookies in:

  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • ½ tsp. cinnamon
Directions:
  1. Heat oven to 375° F.
  2. Cream butter, sugar, nutmeg, milk, vanilla, lemon zest, and egg.
  3. Mix baking powder, salt, baking soda, and flour.
  4. Gradually, blend in to butter mixture.
  5. Roll rounded tablespoons full into cinnamon sugar mixture, flatten slightly and place on an ungreased cookie sheet, about an inch apart.
  6. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until light golden brown.
